Ryan McGinley’s documentary about Girls and Smith Westerns reignites our crush on Christopher Owens.
Photographer Ryan McGinley attended the Pitchfork Music Festival this year and while there, filmed the bands Smith Westerns and Girls. Titled Friends Forever, the documentary he’s assembled follows the groups, fly-on-the-wall style, for the weekend. How great are those sequin socks Girls frontman Christopher Owens wears? True story: We saw Girls play at Manhattan’s Cake Shop and shared a moment with Christopher when he smiled at us. Swoon!
