Karl Rothenberger puts his plain white tee to work with Ford L.A.’s Emily R.
Photographer Karl Rothenberger caught our eye as we were digging through IMG‘s model portfolios to cast a shoot. Book after book, we noticed the images of a single photographer with a engaging touch, and after digging a little deeper, we discovered Karl’s body of work—simple styling that allowed for his photos to explore tender, intimate sensuality. It’s an honest, naked aesthetic that we’d assume reveals as much about the photographer himself as it does his subjects. Lately, Karl is developing his voice as a storyteller, here—with Ford L.A.’s Emily R. in Joey No. 2—uniting the aftermath of a night out in Los Angeles with a simple, worn white shirt (Karl’s own).
